I agree that this doesn't look like you aren't good at landscapes! I love the use of atmospheric perspective, and the rough look to the wood.
The mistiness of the mid-ground towers and the over all color scheme suggest a spring morning, perhaps just before noon. If it is spring, though, adding some daisies among the weeds would reinforce this impression. If summer, then perhaps some grass seed pods?
The architecture of the barracks don't seem to match the architecture of the castle though. (Sloped roofs with thorny embellishments vs. flat and square.) This suggests, at least to me, that this is an enemy construction. Perhaps the castle is under siege, and the enemy army has quickly constructed a permanent barracks. (They are in it for the long haul, and expect to win!) I think the rough appearance of the wood reinforces this impression, however that path on the right looks like it leads right into the city. Hmmm.
Over all, I think there is a lot going on in this painting. It is very well done, and I just can't see a hint of anything to make me think landscaping is a personal weak point.
This picture really doesn't look like you're not very good at landscapes
I really like the concept of this drawing, the soft colors look really nice on it. You chose a nice perspective to show more than just one single building, and I really like how you can see more buildings behind the ones you focused on.
In my opinion it's a very interesting piece of work which makes you curious about which people might live there.
I'm afraid I can't offer really good help on landscapes, because I think this one is really, really good already The only thing I can say is, that it has kind of a speedpaint-feeling to it, at least in my opinion. I don't really know why because you already added many details. Maybe some extra light-effects would help?
All in all it's a great picture which I really like and it's also my favorite of all your landscape-based work.
I think I'm more of a "do things as they come" sort of person, but I suppose it is helpful to have some sort of hope, huh. But sometimes you have to ask yourself, what did __ year old you know, why are you still pursuing __ year old's dream?
"If you've got some suggestions, feel free to let me have em. " Fffff. I got nothing bro. If "Not very good at landscapes" somehow means nearly flawless then yeah I suppose.
