Wow. This is amazing. The way that all of the colors are of the same family adds effect and emotion. The blurring creates a certain sadness, but also highlights the piece. The detail on the hair is excellent, as well as on the amour. The technique is stunning, and original. After looking at it for a long time, the picture almost fades into the background though. The brightness on the shoulders and back makes this piece dramatic and eerie. Lines are almost perfect, with light from one source, not to mention that this is clearly not a photo, but not quite a drawing, either, and the overall mood is fantastic.

This piece is both beautiful, and sad. A woman finds what I am assuming to be her lover, dead on the battlefield. with arrows going through him. You did a really good job on the anatomy. The hair looks nice, as well. I really like the concept, of this piece. The background looks really nice as well. Would you mind telling me what gave you the concept for this piece? There isn't a lot of war art coming up on the site yet. So it's certainly more original than most art. You did a good job on this piece and I wouldd be honored if you would check out my work, or join my groups.:)

A beautiful rendering of a terrible scene. Very well done. The muted tones work well to convey the sense of emptiness surrounding the poor widowed maiden.

Depends on the version, I suppose. Most of the information I got about the Arthurian legends comes from the movie "Excalibur", where Lancelot, after having abandoned Camelot for many years, comes to Arthur's aid in the final battle against Mordred and takes mortal wounds in the process. I'm honestly not certain how reliable that movie is as a frame of reference.

A truly beautiful, solemn work. It makes me want to know more about the lady mourning the soldier, though. That's not a bad thing, though. Imagining why she's there and what he meant to her only takes me further into the art. Excellent!

Well done piece. Did you use the nude figure to depict the nakedness of pain in war? The vulnerability of all of us in her slender form? I like the fact that she is before him unmasked and yet cradling his sword in her arms. In death, there are no masks, nor are there any in mourning. Both are present here. I like the feel of the piece, the pain, the vulnerability, and the dead nobility of the warrior who wasn't felled easily - it took three shots to bring him down. It says much about his commitment and courage. And her nakedness says much about hers in return. They were obviously well matched and their story should be told.

You did well in this piece. War is hard to depict and you did it beautifully. There is nobility, courage, loss, pain and stark reality within it.

I did like very much the muted background to draw more attention on the spotlighted couple. I also like the color choices you made. The colors depict both the warmth of the love through her, and the coldness of death in him.

Her proprtions are well done and not OVERDONE. (Many men fail in that area and you resisted the overblown proportions some choose. Bravo!)

I am curious to see if you will chosse to do a companion piece, one in which she must choose to go on, and how she chooses to incorporate the love of her past and the hope of her future..

Thanks! I do write. My stuff is on Fanfiction under Captain Harlock - he being my fav hero and all! He is a great foil for the stupidity of mankind in general and governments that are totalitarian in particular. I fav'ed this pic, too. I hope he tells the other part of the story in another work.

There is a powerful story that you are telling here. It is a moment so full of potential, and artistically you capture that moment very well. I think that not showing her entire face adds to the whole piece. There is fathomless sorrow, but what other emotions is she experiencing, or will be very soon. I guess I'm saying that you're leaving just enough room for each beholder's interpretation based on what each brings to this piece. Thank you and congratulations on the well deserved DD recognition.

This is incredibly beautiful. It is very rare that nudity in art is executed properly but in this case it is more than beautiful. I don't think the piece would have near as much beauty and impact without it. I just...the impact, emotions, and sheer execution on how well the piece is done is just unreal to me. Great job. This is a DD well earned!
