Great color rendering of materials. I'd like to get a sense of the scale, possibly with a faded background image or terrain. Along with scale it's unclear what the tank shoots, or the scale of that ammunition. I like the idea of a triangular shaped exit point to fit the barrel shape. The open circuitry in the barrel is a cool detail but unlikely for a war vehicle. I'd also like to know what makes it mobile. It looks like it hovers, but it's not completely clear. Overall, obviously great work. Keep it up.
Some of my favourite tanks of all time were the hovertanks from Battlezone 1. They were GEV whereas this looks more anti-grav or maglev and of a much higher tech level, but this gives me the same feeling of looking at brutal power contained within an armoured shell. I like the way you have dispersed the ID markings too. Great work.
My big idea for this was to have it not shoot anything. It would detect entangled particles in the target and push them at high velocity from the back of the cannon to the front. Kind of like a Quantum Hammer. This would cause the target to destroy itself with it's own mass, and the tank would never run out of ordnance as long as it had power.
This brought a small tear to my eye as it reminded me of a similarly awesome tank from an old game and I miss that game... This reminds me of the Triple Rail Hover Tank of the Freedom Guard from the game Dark Reign and man would it be even more awesome if it actually looked like this.
Dark. Reign. Was. The. SHIT! You know it's rare to find other people who have played that game. It was the very first game I bought on computer (I didn't have a computer until I was 14 or so) And it was the very first game I played online. I'm tearing up over here too.
I'm going to drink a beer later in honor of a great old game! I still remember the countless hours I spent making my own scenarios in that game... or better yet I think I'll go and re-install it and find a way to make Windows 7 run that game again!
